Dare to Make Mistakes
Free Teleclasss - July 17, 2008
Is there a difference between high standards and perfectionism?
The desire to excel and the drive to be perfect are two very different things. One can serve you very well in your business, and the other can create all sorts of uneccessary obstacles to the fulfillment of your goals.
- Do you believe that anything less than "total" success is a failure?
- Do you feel embarrassed when you make a mistake others can see?
- Do you procrastinate with your marketing because your web site is not done to your standards?
- Do you do things you know are a poor use of your talents because you don't trust others to do them as well as you?
If you said yes to most of these questions, perfectionist tendencies may be impacting your ability to run a thriving business and also enjoy the rest of your life.
Abandoning perfectionism does not mean lowering your standards.
Perfectionists have a very hard time believing this statement. Perhaps you are one of these people. Perfect has become a measuring stick which you cannot really live up to, and you've lost touch with the magnificance of who you are.
If you're not able to laugh at your mistakes (that's how we see them, isn't it?) then you're probably spending a LOT of energy worrying about practically everything. You're also working harder and longer than you need to, and your sense of satisfaction is diminished.
Will you join me on July 17th to launch your blossoming imperfection project?
